MUDITA, means in Sanskrit “the joy in other people’s success, happiness and wellbeing”.
I feel that it captures the essence of what deeply fulfills me as a jewelry maker.
My deepest gratitude is when I feel that there is a true match between a piece of jewelry I created and its ‘destined” owner; when I see the appreciation and excitement on a client’s face; when I just know that this pounding piece of jewelry I put my heart in, will connect, empower and simply make someone very happy…every day.
MUDITA, means in Sanskrit “the joy in other people’s success, happiness and wellbeing”.
The sound of this word, together with its benevolent, blessed meaning, had long captivated and fascinated me.
I feel that it captures the essence of what deeply fulfills me as a jewelry maker.
I do feel satisfied when I feel that I have succeeded in breathing life into the materials I work with; that the piece of jewelry I created tells a story, winks to History, evokes longings for distant places, takes whoever is looking at it to a journey of lights and colors...
But my deepest gratitude is when I feel that there is a true match between a piece of jewelry I created and its ‘destined” owner; when I see the appreciation and excitement on a client’s face; when I just know that this pounding piece of jewelry I put my heart in, will connect, empower and simply make someone very happy…every day.

Creation

Almost always, the creation process starts for me around a gemstone I pick from my collection- a collection of hand-picked gemstones from around the world, in which each gemstone “talks” to me, mesmerizes me, arouses some distant emotions within me, carrying some messages that I cannot even put into words…
I look and absorb this energy and try to imagine the person that this stone will draw…then, intuitively, I will choose the music to be played in the studio (could be anywhere on the range between renaissance ancient classical music to English Pop).
I seldom decide in advance nor make a sketch of the piece I’m going to create.
Instead, I try to empty my mind of any pre conceptions or intentions, let myself surrender to the energy of the stone and the power of the music that is playing, and allow it to guide me through the process.

Inspiration

"Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have
desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook
that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own under-
standing of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart
and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate
love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the
beloved in your heart and a song of praise
upon your lips."
